Lee Roy Parnell is part of a long line of Texas roots-music eclectics and is among the elite few who can be identified as a triple threat. An ace guitarist, distinctive singer and hit songwriter, his music runs the gamut of diversity. Combining the influences of Blue-Eyed Soul, Delta Blues, Road House Rock, Southern Boogie, Texas Swing, and Gospel, Parnell’s sound defies conventional classification.
Parnell has recorded eight studio albums, and has charted more than twenty singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts. His highest-charting hits are “What Kind of Fool Do You Think I Am” (1992), “Tender Moment” (1993), and “A Little Bit of You” (1995), all of which peaked at No. 2.
Parnell’s new album, “Midnight Believer,” comes out August 11th, his first in 11 years. His show at the Franklin Theatre on August 17th will bring some of the old favorites along with debuting new music.
