Come join us for a special morning at The Purple Butterfly with award-winning children’s author, illustrator and international speaker Linda Ragsdale.
Linda is a survivor of the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks, where she suffered physically devastating wounds, and a survivor of breast cancer. None of that has deterred her message of empathy and compassion. She created her Peace Dragon organization to encourage everyone to be peacemakers by choosing to see, speak and act through a kind heart and calm thoughts.
At 10 a.m., Linda will read from her book “Not Opposites.” Modeling a message of diversity, “Not Opposites” demonstrates in simple text and delightful illustration the beauty of appreciating the differences in everyone. This session will be geared to ages 2-5.
At 11 a.m., she will read from “How I Did It.” This encouraging tale about a daring letter in the alphabet who wants to stand out uses clever play on words to deliver a message about creativity, individuality, and following your dreams! This session will be geared to ages 4-7.
All morning, children will be able to color paper dragons and get temporary dragon tattoos. Refreshments will be provided.
