On Friday, November 30, 2018, The Battle of Franklin Trust will once again display luminaries at dusk to honor the 10,000 casualties inflicted during the Battle of Franklin 154 years ago. BOFT Lecture Series: “The United States Constitution and Confederate Memory”
This summer will mark the 150th anniversary of both the ratification of the 14th Amendment and the creation of the Confederate Cemetery at Carnton. The lecture will be on Thursday, June 7 and will feature Eric A. Jacobson speaking about the 14th Amendment, how it defined American citizenship as well as the creation of the Confederate cemetery and how they both unfolded during the Reconstruction era. Dogs Days of Summer in Downtown Franklin
SHOP LOCAL. SUPPORT LOCAL. More than 20 downtown Franklin businesses will support local charities on Tuesday, August 27 through their sales, as part of a “Dog Days of Summer" event designed to engage the community with local non-profits! Locations include both merchants and restaurants. Participating DFA businesses will donate 10-15 percent of sales between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. to a non-profit of their choice--and many will leave their doors open later for the event.
