Puckett’s Smoked Pork Belly BLT

More than 30 locally owned fixtures of the middle Tennessee dining scene are offering special menus and price points as part of Nashville Restaurant Week, August 19-25–and five downtown Franklin restaurants are in on the deal!

55 South, Bunganut Pig, Puckett’s Boat House, Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant, Red Pony Restaurant, and Saffire Restaurant and Bar — all Downtown Franklin Association members — are providing three-course offerings for a fixed $20.13 or $30.13 price, Monday through Sunday.

The restaurants are also members of the Nashville Originals, the city’s not-for-profit independent restaurant association that coordinates the bi-annual event each year.

“Restaurant Week is a celebration of our incredible dining scene, and the importance of supporting locally owned restaurants,” said Tom Loventhal, president of Nashville Originals. “What we eat matters, and where we eat becomes a part of our culture. These restaurants are supporting each other, employing local people and buying from local suppliers. That’s what community is all about.”

Established in 2006, the Nashville Originals are local restaurateurs dedicated to sustaining the independent restaurant as a fixture of Nashville’s culture and community. Together, the Originals support local initiatives and charities, as well as the growing culinary community that has recently received accolades from around the nation and beyond—causing the likes of the UK Guardian to praise Music City for a food and drink scene with “soul and rock ’n’ roll swagger.”

So get on the phone and make that reservation! Y’all don’t have to head north on I-65 to enjoy 55 South’s shrimp ‘n’ grits or a slow-smoked pork belly BLT with avocado sauce from Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant in downtown Franklin.
