BOFT Lecture Series: “The United States Constitution and Confederate Memory”

This summer will mark the 150th anniversary of both the ratification of the 14th Amendment and the creation of the Confederate Cemetery at Carnton. The lecture will be on Thursday, June 7 and will feature Eric A. Jacobson speaking about the 14th Amendment, how it defined American citizenship as well as the creation of the Confederate cemetery and how they both unfolded during the Reconstruction era.

The event is free, but it does require a reservation. Please contact Jayde Smith at either jayde@boft.org or (615) 794-0903. All attendees will receive a ticket for a free Classic House Tour of Carnton to be redeemed at a later date.
