Greetings DFA Members!
I am thrilled to be working as executive director of the Main Street Program, and I look forward to meeting you all in the next few weeks.
I have lived in Williamson County for almost 30 years now, the first 10 in Franklin and the past 19 in Brentwood. In my most recent position on the City Commission there, I have gotten to work with many elected and civic officials in Franklin, and I am so glad to be able to continue those relationships in this position as well.
My interest in history has been lifelong, and my hobbies include genealogy and historic cemeteries. The fact that my office will be located in the historic Dr. McPhail building is a unique opportunity to “walk the walk” when it comes to historic preservation and economic development.
I’m especially looking forward to visiting your places of business and learning from you the benefits and challenges you see as a commercial member of the Historic Downtown Franklin community. I see this year as a chance to review what’s been done in the past and work with the DFA board to see how things might be done going forward.
The Heritage Foundation, parent organization of the Downtown Franklin Association, has added several talented staff members recently, and we will work together to make sure you maximize your Downtown Franklin Association membership.
