Do you avoid going places because of parking? Here in the South, we take pride in scoring the best spots. You know what I mean–my mom used to circle ’round and ’round the mall lot until she found the most ideal location.

I think we’ve all been there before, when the third circle around the block makes shoppers think you are stalking them as they walk back to their vehicles. If none of this applies to you, then you are a much better person than the one writing this!

Here’s the good news: our quaint town of downtown Franklin has convenient parking. Best part? It’s free!

With two large parking garages that nearly bookend Main Street and numerous scattered lots, you should never consider parking here a problem… or an inconvenience. As the holidays approach and you’re weighing your shopping destinations, remember this: we have tons of charm (yes, we self assigned that. But we’ve been told that too), we have no revolving doors that will close on you, and we do have safe, centrally located parking garages.

GARAGE LOCATIONS:

The Fourth Avenue South garage is located across the street from Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant. It holds four levels of well-lit parking and well as spaces to charge electric cars, 30-minute parking spots for those get-in-get-out shoppers, and unlimited time limits on unmarked spaces.

The Second Avenue South garage is located on the corner of Second Avenue and Main Street, directly across from St. Phillip Catholic Church and catty-corner from JJ’s Wine Bar.

OTHER FREE PARKING:

Other free options in downtown Franklin include up and down Main Street, as well as the lots behind the shops on Main Street: entrances are on Third Avenue South, Fourth Avenue South, and Fifth Avenue.

And of course–our antique district is just brimmin’ with parking, so no need to fret when you head down Second Avenue South or North.

So when you are considering braving the hustle and bustle of holiday fun, we hope you will remember this post and the stress it saved you just by reading the words: FREE PARKING AVAILABLE!
