Donna Frost is a true traveling troubadour, logging thousands of miles year round performing shows in cities all across the US. She is promoting her 4th & 5th releases, her first all original ukulele music project, “Ukeabilly Mama” and the long awaited Sun Sessions with BIlly Hancock, “Bare Bones” on Turkey Mountain Records in June of 2014. Donna’s “Girls Like Us” album (2009) spun off two top 20 indie singles overseas, “Jacksonville” and “Runaway Train”. Donna has been an ASCAPlus recipient for the past 10 years for her work as a performing songwriter. She also just received an award from Gevania Global Network in Australia for her work. She was a Kerrville New Folk finalist in 2004. Donna also is lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the rock band, the BUNNIEs. She worked with the late Skeeter Davis as her background singer from 1996-2002 and performs a tribute show in Nashville to Skeeter each year on Davis’ birthday. Donna also is very active as a performer and MC for Gram Parsons tribute shows for Gram InterNational. Donna also starred as Janis Joplin in the musical “Kozmic Blue” for 3 years in Nashville. She also contributed to Marley Brant’s book, “Tales from the Rock and Roll Highway” as well as a new book just published by Rev. Keith A. Gordon called “The Other Side of Nashville.” Donna is currently writing her first book “My Life in Song”. Donna is also an actress and has worked as an extra most recently in episodes of ABC’s “Nashville” all three seasons as well as commercials and music videos. She has also acted in several local theatrical productions.
