On Friday, Feb. 8, the Downtown Franklin Association (DFA) is asking participating businesses to leave their doors open later and donate 15 percent of sales between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. to a non-profit organization of their choice! The “Open Your Heart,” event will (hopefully) encourage people to shop local and in Franklin, Tenn.!

HOW IT WORKS:

You (the merchant) may choose any charity to benefit, and the donation is between you and the charity. Each business is responsible for contacting the organization they will support, and for donating the proceeds after the event.

This promotion is designed to show support for community organizations, and to promote loyalty among your customers–so please choose a non-profit organization that really speaks to your guests.

Please reply to this email if you want to join in, or contact Macey Baird at macey@sheridanpr.com for questions. We must know who is participating by Thursday, Jan. 24.

IT’S BEEN SUCCESSFUL BEFORE!

This summer, 26 merchants participated in a similar “Dog Days of Summer” promotion coordinated by the Downtown Franklin Association, and raised more than $7,000 for chosen charities. It was successful because many of the businesses—like The Registry—used the opportunity to support causes near and dear to both their customers’ and their own hearts.
