Dogs Days of Summer in Downtown Franklin

SHOP LOCAL. SUPPORT LOCAL. More than 20 downtown Franklin businesses will support local charities on Tuesday, August 27 through their sales, as part of a “Dog Days of Summer" event designed to engage the community  with local non-profits! Locations include both merchants and restaurants. Participating DFA businesses will donate 10-15 percent of sales between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. to a non-profit of their choice--and many will leave their doors open later for the event. These merchants and restaurant owners have chosen organizations that are near and dear to both their own hearts and their customers. If you participate, please use #DogDaysofSummer or #FranklinLove so that we can follow your adventures! Participating DFA restaurants … [Read more...]

February’s Franklin Art Scene

January 14, 2013

On Friday, Feb. 1, the Downtown Franklin Association (DFA) and the Franklin Art Scene will participate in the National Wear Red Day, the 10th Annual American Heart Association movement to support awareness, research, education and community programs benefiting women. Because the event falls on the same day as the art crawl, we are encouraging participating sites to join in on National Wear Red Day! Here's what you can do to help: 1. Spread the word to your customers to wear red on Friday, Feb. 1--both during the day AND during the Franklin Art Scene 2. Create incentives for your guests who wear red on Friday, Feb. 1 (think discounts, freebies or drawings) to your business during the day and/or during the Franklin Art Scene 3. Display … [Read more...]

October’s Art Scene Introduces New Host Sites, Artists

October 1, 2012

The first week of October kicks off a new quarter for downtown Franklin’s monthly crawl, bringing in a host of new sites and supplementary artists this Friday, Oct. 5. The Franklin Art Scene carries more than 30 locations with it, taking participants from the antique district and down Columbia Avenue to Main Street and the Factory at Franklin. September’s one-year anniversary brought more than 1,500 patrons to the free event, and many of the galleries and working studios offered live music for the milestone month. As always, trolleys circulate among all the stops, and $5 buys an unlimited wristband to jump on and off at will from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. In addition to an online map and QR code, a Franklin Art Scene smartphone … [Read more...]

Dog Days of Summer Promotion Gives Back in a big way

August 30, 2012

Downtown Franklin Businesses Donate More Than $7,000 To Charities A group of downtown Franklin merchants supported local charities through their sales one night last month, as part of a “Dog Days of Summer” promotion coordinated by the Downtown Franklin Association (DFA). Twenty-two of the participating businesses collectively donated more than $7,000—15 percent of their sales between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. that night—to a non-profit organization of their choice. Four businesses chose to rally around Williamson County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), an organization devoted to the best interests of abused and neglected children. City Farmhouse, McCreary’s Irish Pub, Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant and Puckett’s Boat House all … [Read more...]
